Controlled migration

Replace your ERP without stopping the company.

Not a one-off weekend cutover, and not running on hope. Business truth moves in controlled stages, one domain at a time.

No blind cutover. No running a company on hope.

Replacing an ERP is an operational move, not an install wizard.

On the day a new system goes live, prices, stock, orders and documents have to be right by the morning. Moving everything at once bets on every domain at the same time.

Three principles

  • Your existing system keeps working

Work goes on as usual until a domain is ready to move.

  • Data stays in sync, continuously

Not a one-off export, but a continuous update of products, prices, customers and commercial policy.

  • Each domain moves only after verification

Authority moves when the reconciliations are clean, not by a date on the calendar.

Seven stages. One system decides at every moment.

At every stage it's clear which system holds the truth for each domain, and what has to happen to move it.

An illustration of the method. The order of domains is set for each company by the dependencies between them.
  1. 1Mapping

    What happens
We map the entities, codes and business rules in your existing system: price lists, assortments, customer terms and document types.
    What you see
An approved mapping for each domain, and a list of rules that need a decision.
  2. 2Sync

    What happens
Continuous sync from the existing ERP (products, prices, assortments, customers and commercial policy), plus a read-only mirror of historical documents.
    What you see
Sync status for each domain. The existing system still decides.
  3. 3Verification

    What happens
Scheduled reconciliations of stock, prices and orders. Orders are checked for duplicates, and exceptions go to a review queue.
    What you see
Reconciliation reports and an exception queue with approve or reject.
  4. 4Domain cutover

    What happens
One domain moves, with dedicated cutover tools (for example, pallet and rack intake in the warehouse) and cutover conditions agreed in advance.
    What you see
A list of cutover conditions. You approve.
  5. 5Operate and monitor

    What happens
The domain runs in NextERP, while sync and reconciliation continue for everything else.
    What you see
Daily monitoring for the domain, with exceptions in the same queues.
  6. 6Authority handover

    What happens
NextERP becomes the source of truth for the domain, and the direction of that domain's data flips.
    What you see
    The authority map is updated.
  7. 7The next domain, and finally retirement

    What happens
Stages 3–6 repeat for each domain. When no domain depends on the previous system any more, it's retired and kept as a read-only archive.
    What you see
    A complete authority map.

You decide when a domain moves.

Reconciliation reports between the systems, an exception queue for review and an authority map for each domain. Nothing moves without your approval.

  • Reconciliation report for stock and prices
  • Order review queue: duplicates and lines without a price
  • Authority map: who decides in each domain
  • Cutover conditions set in advance for each domain

Start where the risk is low and the value is high.

In the warehouse, for example, storage locations move first, then stock, picking and distribution. The order follows the dependencies between domains, not the project's convenience.

What this looks like at an Israeli food distributor, mid-move.

The existing ERP is still running and in sync. Warehouse locations, stock movements and picking, the field-sales app, the catalog and pricing already work in NextERP, and domains are moving one after another.

  • Continuous sync of products, prices, assortments and customers
  • A mirror of documents from the existing system
  • Order intake with duplicate detection and a review queue
  • Scheduled stock reconciliations
  • Warehouse cutover tools: pallet and rack intake

Common questions

Is there downtime?

Each domain moves separately and the previous system keeps running alongside, so every cutover point is small and planned. We won't promise zero downtime. We promise that nothing moves without defined conditions.

What happens to historical data?

Documents and data from the previous system stay available to read, so history doesn't disappear on cutover day.

What if something doesn't match?

Exceptions go into a review queue instead of being silently absorbed. A domain doesn't move until the reconciliations are clean.

What do employees need to learn?

Each team learns the domain that's moving, and starts working in it when it moves. Not the whole system in one day.
